Artist and sculptor Sally Wibrew creates enticing wooden sculptures for people's personal gardens and commercial landscapes. Having completed an MA in Animation and Sound Design, she initially trained as a computer games artist. However, preferring life in the great outdoors she re-trained as a tree surgeon and quickly began experimenting with chainsaw carving.
Drawing on her academic past, she is constantly pushing the boundaries of traditional chainsaw sculpture by creating increasingly elaborate and colourful designs; expressing a sense of character in her subjects. Whilst experimenting with the aesthetics, she is developing her craftsmanship to ensure that her sculptures last for many years outside.
Much of her work is inspired by the animals and birds seen in the fields around her Norfolk home.”
